New Flyer buys NASI for USD80m

New Flyer Industries Inc (New Flyer) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada has acquired US bus builder, North American Bus Industries Inc (NABI) of Anniston, Alabama, from an affiliate company of the New York-based investment management company, Cerberus Capital Management LP, for approximately USD80m. (The affiliate of Cerberus acquired NABI in 2006). Included in the purchase is NABI's bus manufacturing operation in Anniston, Alabama, a parts distribution centre in Delaware, Ohio, and a service centre in Jurupa Valley, California. It also includes NABI's all-makes aftermarket parts organizations, which sources parts from more than 200 different suppliers to support transit buses throughout North America. Excluded from the purchase are discontinued operations in Hungary and all related assets and liabilities - it shinned its last bus shell in Mav.
