Krone announces major change in business strategy

Germany - Europe's second largest trailer builder, Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone GmbH (Krone) of Werlte, Germany has fundamentally changed its strategy in terms of product philosophy and service provision in the aftermarket. For many years it has worked with key premium component suppliers to build quality trailers and to ensure parts availability through associated dealers in the aftermarket. Now in addition to continuing to offer trailers built in this way - it will continue to offer trailers with a choice of four axle makes (BPW, SAF-Holland, Mercedes-Benz and Valx) - it is to offer the market trailers built with its own trailer axle (KTX axle -see announcement in T&BB July issue 2014) and other own-Krone branded components such as the landing legs, under-run protection, stanchions and supports. This trailer combination is called the 'All in Krone' trailer. The 'All in Krone' trailer starts with it largest sales volume trailer product, the curtainsider. All in Krone trailer parts will be available to order from its new parts on-line hotline from the end of July.
