Jost plans to revolutionise tractor trailer coupling with fully automatic system

Germany - Jost Werke GmbH of Neu-Isenburg has developed the first ever fully automatic coupling system for tractors and trailers which enables the pneumatic and electric functions to be connected and disconnected automatically by the driver from within the cab at the same time as the fifth wheel. The company sees this fully automated coupling system as being a revolution in safety and comfort for the driver. This system is the next generation of Jost's automated KKS coupling system that was launched four years ago and which permits the king-pin and fifth wheel to be coupled and decoupled automatically from the driver's cab. This new generation system, dubbed fully automatic KKS (comfort coupling system) system or KKS U, goes a step further and provides for the air or pneumatic and electric functions to be fully coupled.
