Volvo-Eicher unveils the new Pro series truck and bus range

Pithampur - Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (VECV) headquartered at New Delhi, the commercial vehicle joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Ltd, has unveiled its new generation Pro series of buses and trucks at a launch held at its plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, ahead of this month's Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi. 11 new vehicles were displayed covering the entire gross vehicle weight range from five to 49 tonnes. The different Pro series models are named according to gross weight and load capacity, with some segments overlapping: So, for instance, the Pro 1000 trucks range covers the 5 to 14 tonne gvw light- and medium-duty segments; the Pro 3000 trucks range in the 9 to 14 tonne gvw medium-duty segment; the Pro 6000 trucks in the 16 to 40 tonne gvw/gcw (trucks, tippers and tractors); and the Pro 8000 trucks in the 25 to 49 tonne gvw heavy-duty range (trucks and buses).
