Dunlop Aircraft Tyres invests ￡4m into UK manufacturing

Dunlop Aircraft Tyres has announced the completion of an expansion plan for its Fort Dunlop, Birmingham manufacturing base. The aviation tyre-maker will switch on its latest additional production machine, completing a ￡4 million factory investment programme. DAT HAS DOUBLED IN SIZE in the last five years, adding a number of new semi-automated production machines to satisfy the rising demand for its products. The company now exports 80 per cent of the products it manufactures at Fort Dunlop, a fact that was recognised when it was presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2011.
