Highway services are being enhanced dramatically by the introduction and development of telematics technology, writes Ringway's group plant and fleet manager Gary Condon. Every few years a new technology appears that changes forever the way people communicate and do business with each other. Personal computers, mobile phones, global positioning systems and the Internet have all done this individually and now collectively for highway maintenance operations.
