The focus of this month's Product Update is software - particularly the technology the authorities are using to build asset management inventories. Highway authorities are increasingly using bespoke software to build and manage detailed inventories and accurate digital models of their road networks. Asset management is developing as a discipline of highway engineering - as is the technology being used to collate and display key information in graphical or map based systems.
