African lovegrass (Eragrostis curvula) is la hardy tussock perennial that was first introduced into NSW in the early 1900s. In the 1960s, research on this species intensified across the country and, by 1968, 115 accessions of lovegrass had been introduced. Different agronomic types are now referred I to as a complex, and include: Curvula, Short Chloromelas, Tall Chloromelas, Robusta Green, Robusta Blue and Robusta Intermediate. The most recent introduction of a lovegrass type was a cultivar—cv. Consol—of the type Confertain the 1980s.
