In Vitro Evaluation of Fungicides Against Colletotrichum dematium var. Truncata Causing Soybean Anthracnose

Six fungicides viz; Tilt, Thiram , Dithane M-45, Bavistin, Kavach and Vitavax at the concentration of 5,10,50,100,200,400ppm each were evaluated in vitro against Colletotrichum de murium van truncata an incitant of anthracnose in soybean followed by food poison technique. All the fungicides evaluated in vitro were found effective against C. truncatum and recorded significant inhibition of the test pathogen over untreated control. Among the fungicides, Tilt recorded least mean colony diameter (10.9 mm) and highest inhibition (87.34%) of mycelial growth of the test pathogen over untreated control. This was followed by the fungicides, Dithane M-45, Thiram and Vitavax which recorded mean colony diameter of 14.5,14.9 and 18.8 mm and mean mycelial growthinhibition of 80.15, 83.38 and 79.13 per cent, respectively.
