Superacid might initiate basic changes

RESEARCHERS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA (UC),Riverside,have discovered the world's strongest acid,says Christopher Reed,UC Riverside professor of chemistry.Remarkably,it is also the gentlest acid.This nontoxic and noncorrosive acid,called carborane,might have applications in the petrochemical,polymer and pharmaceutical industries.
