Mitigation and Removal of a Hazardous Tree

I have had a fascination with tree rigging work ever since I was a young kid and first saw some pictures of the high-lead climbers in the old-time logging books. When I became an arborist, that passion for rigging work was carried over. I became determined to learn as much about it as I could, so that I could safely tackle some of the more hazardous tree removal jobs that we encounter occasionally in our industry. In this article, I will explain some of the methods and techniques that we used to safely rig and remove a severely decayed 22-inch dbh sugar maple (Acer saccha-rum).
