Development of a laboratory scale hydrometallurgical procedure for the recovery of Pt and Rh from spent auutomotive catalysts

A summary of the development of an integrated laboratory-scale process for the recovery of PGM from spent automotive catalysts is presented. The proposed process, the experimental equipment and procedure and some representative experimental results are described. A detailed mass balance and material and energy consumption description is attached, permitting the comparison of the proposed process with the currently applied technologies.
