I generally try and avoid expensive fishing rods as they're usually the ones that get broken, probably because you try and protect it too much! But there is something about a custom-made rod that makes it stand out from the crowd, be it in the design,style or just the workmanship.I recently took delivery of a new baitcasting rod crafted by Owen Spalding of Eyre Rods. Owen makes great rods, either to his own or a customer's design.
