Ihave a marine radio in the Quintrex Dory and it is widely used when fishing with mates in another boat. If someone finds a honey hole it is a simple matter of calling them up, though ensure that no one else is on the same channel or it may start a gold rush. I also have a UHF CB radio in the Landcruiser and again it is so very handy when travelling with others in a convoy, or for overtaking large road trains on dusty gravel roads.More recently, I have been riding my Can-Am Outlander 650 Max XT quad about the bush and keeping tags on mates is not that easy when riding out of sight. I found a nice little river pool last year, it was full of jungle perch and small barra. I had a ball catching and releasing them, but old mate missed out because we were unable to keep in touch and he could not find me. He now insists we take a pair of walkie talkies!
