Many readers will remember when back in 2003 the West Australian Premier decided against the marina development resort at Maud's Landing on Ningaloo Reef. The decision was a result of several years campaigning by thousands of Australians to 'Save Ningaloo.' It was believed that the proposed large inland marina resort on the boundary of the Ningaloo Marine Park would have severely impacted on Ningaloo Reef.The good news is that Ningaloo Reef is alive and well - thriving with fish. Although some areas are closed to fishing due to its marine park status, ample areas are still open to fishing.
