The global market for thermoplastic elastomers was believed to have been 3.38 million t in 2011 and to have grown to 3.55 million t in 2012, with a growth rate of 5.2 %. It is expected to grow at the higher rate of 5.6 %, to be 3.75 million t in 2013 and will again grow to just under4 million t in 2014 at a rate of 6.0 %. Over the period 2014 to 2018, the market will grow at the even higher rate of 6.3 % to be slightly less than 5.1 million t.
