On 19 December 2011 Lubrizol completed the acquisition of Spanish TPU compounder Merquinsa. The transaction was announced at beginning of November 2011. Lubrizol will be assuming approximately 100 Merquinsa employees. With the close of the transaction, all of the Merquinsaproducts are being integrated into the Lubrizol Engineered Polymers business.
