This paper presents the results of experimental and theoretical studies of a method for electrodetonative generation of directed shock waves and their practical use for creation of a new class of electrodetonative energy conversion devices - convergent shock wave generators, so-called "trishockers." There continues to be a great deal of interest in the creation and use of pulsed plasma accelerators (PPAs) with coaxial-cylindrical and coaxial-conical geometry that operate in liquids and are capable of generating directed Shockwaves. One characteristic feature of PPAs is generation of large pulsed currents and hence of large intrinsic magnetic fields due to the discharge currents, which create a plasma-accelerating Ampere force f = (1/c) centre dot J X H. Plasma formation in a PPA results in production of a directional perturbation and excites directed Shockwaves.
