Sonatest have entered into a worldwide exclusive distribution partnership with Simula, who design and create training software on CD-ROM, specialising in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) and ultrasonic theory. These new training programmes open up new learning opportunities for all individuals, providing the ultimate multimedia experience for training and development.Contents of the non-destructive ultrasonic testing CD cover the following broad subject areas: ultrasound, steel metallurgy, test instruments, test preparation, and test procedures. There are over 500 video pages containing interactive exercises and approx. 2 h of audio/voice guidance for the user. Animations, film clips, and self assessment tests all work together to aid the user in learning the concepts and theory consolidation of ultrasonics and NDT. Extra features making this software particularly user friendly include glossaries, text search features, book marking options, and the ability to view paths completed.
