摘要

A multiple carbide particle reinforced Fe based surface composite coating has been in situ synthesised by laser cladding. The microstructure of the coating was analysed by using scanning electron microscopy, electron probe microanalyser and X-ray diffractometry. The results showed that TiC + delta - (Ti,V)C or VC + delta -(Ti,V)C multiple carbides with cubic or flower-like form were synthesised via in situ reaction in the molten pool during laser cladding process. The multiple carbides were homogeneously distributed in the matrix. With increasing the amount of ferrovanadium, the type of carbides changed from the TiC + delta -(Ti,V)C multiple carbides to VC + delta - (Ti,V)C. The microhradness of the composite coating reinforced by multiple carbides was higher than TiC on its own would.
