Following 2008's successful foray, the London Section's March meeting took the form of an afternoon mini-symposium. In the relative absence of time constraints, Raf, in his own inimitable style, led us into what may perhaps be best described as an adventure into the science of advanced colour measurement. Perhaps, euphemistically, he dubbed his talk, a 'New Slant on Spectrophotometry for Special-effect, Metallic Pigments', In essence, Raf's talk concerned the huge issues encountered, especially within the automotive industry, as a result of the flaked metallic pigments used in the generation of apparent viewing angle colour changes.
