... and Council meeting summary - November 2011

As I write my first President's update I am attending the Australasian Corrosion Conference in Perth, WA, where 752 delegates from, 42 countries have gathered to hear 270 papers presented in eight concurrent lecture streams - quite impressive numbers I'm sure you'll agree. No doubt the fact that this ACA conference is also the 18th International Corrosion Congress has contributed to these large numbers. The ACA is also hosting a large exhibition with many paint manufacturers present and there are also many SCAA members among the delegates. In discussions with the, latter group, we were wondering why SCAA no longer gets even half the numbers at our conferences as we used to in the 'golden days'.
