In June 2003,the Australian Government introduced a bill into the Parliament to amend the Ozone Protection Act 1989 (OPA).The new Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 1989 was passed by Parliament on 5 December 2003,and will take effect from 1 April 2004.
