SCAA 2008 Conference 7-9 August 2008 CONFERENCE REPORT

SCAA President Paul Hughes welcomed delegates and gave a brief report on the progress of the Association with specific reference to the Annual Meeting of Council and the meetings of the SCAA Memorial Trust and Strategic Planning Committees,which were held during the previous day and a half Paul then introduced the representatives of FATIPEC-Prof Hans-Juergen Adler,and JSCM(Japan Society of Colour Materials)-Mr Koichiro Murata.Prof Adler and Mr Murata each thanked Paul for his welcome and hospitality and gifts were exchanged.Prof Adler and Mr Murata were presented with a gift pack of Coolangatta Wines grown in the local region.NSW Section Chairman Martyn Bentham welcomed delegates on behalf of NSW section as hosts for the conference.Martyn then introduced Mike Beresford,outgoing Chairman of the Technical Education committee,who gave a short powerpoint presentation on the e-learning course.To date 45 students are enrolled with 4 having completed the course.About half of the students are already SCAA members.
