Adding value to formulations with natural-coloured TiO_2

A natural-coloured, buff titanium dioxide can be used to add value to formulations. The natural-coloured pigment has a TiO_2 content of about 95% and can be used as a partial replacement for ure-white TiO_2. The cost savings achieved using the natural-coloured igment result primarily from a reduction in the use of more expensive colourants, such as phthalo blues and greens (organic pigments) and iron oxides. This article describes the natural-coloured pigment and its use in typical coatings applications.
