摘要

Surface analysis techniques (XPS and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction GIXRD) and electrochemical techniques are combined to elucidate the effect resulting from N+ single-implantation and Cr+ and N+ coirnplantation in the formation and evolution of passive layers generated on AISI 430 steel in alkaline medium. Nitrogen implantation leads to CrN together with nitrogen as metastable solid solution. The combined implantation of chromium and nitrogen forms a single well-defined nitride phase, (Cr,Fe)(2)N1-x Copyright (C) 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
