FARMING DIARY AGAINST THE GRAIN

A warm welcome to T&M's new diarist, Brian Bevin, who provides us with an introduction to his story and involvement in agriculture before he follows with the first episode of his farming diary. I was born in the small village of Willey on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border in 1956. The village had five small farms, one of which belonged to my family. It was fairly typical of the time and the area in which it was situated. The main enterprise was dairy, with approximately 40 cows, a few sheep and 20-30 acres of corn.
