With many hours of cleaning, wire brushing and general tidying up, the main skid unit was prepared for painting, the task no doubt facilitated by a bit of spare time generated by unseasonal wet weather preventing outside work. Although the plan was to achieve just a workmanlike finish, with two coats of agricultural enamel applied by spray, the end result looked a huge improvement over the original appearance. The feeling of making definite steady progress was, however, short-lived when the final paint job had dried.
