UNIFIED MECHANISM FOR LOCALISED CORROSION BEHAVIOUR OF NITROGEN-ALLOYED STEELS AND STAINLESS STEELS

摘要

Several theories and mechanisms have been proposed for the enhancement of passivity and localised corrosion resistance of nitrogen-alloyed steels and stainless steels, and the subject of discussion still continues in the literature. In this review an attempt has been made to discuss about a unified mechanism for the improvements in the passivation and localised corrosion tendency of the steels and stainless steels containing nitrogen.
