摘要

The effect of nitrogen addition in a Fe-15Mn-7Si-9Cr-5Ni (wt. percent) has been studied in terms of microstructural change and shape recovery. The microstructural evaluation shows that it is possible to stabilize the austenite phase by replacing the Ni with N either fully or partially. The best shape recovery is obtained when the alloys contain 500 ppm of N along with 3 percent Ni. The alloy in which Ni was completely replaced by N does not show good shape memory property.
