摘要

Intermetallic phases of Nd_2Fe_(14)B and Tb(Dy)Fe_2 are, in equilibrium, formed by the peritectic reaction. Therefore, when the initial composition has stoichiometric composition of these intermetallics, these phases are impossible to be obtained as a primary phase in equilibrium. To obtain Nd_2Fe_(14)B or Tb(Dy)Fe_2 phase primarily, phase selection of both alloys to crystallize hard magnetic and magnetostrictive phases were first discussed in relation with initial composition and growth rate. Preferred growth direction in unidirectional solidification and single crystal growth, especially, <111> crystal formation, of Tb-Dy-Fe alloys were also discussed.
