摘要

Al - AlN compacts with varying volume fraction of AlN were compacted at various pressures and sintered at different temperatures. This study indicates that higher hardness of the green compacts was achieved at low AlN content and at higher compacting pressure. Scanning electron microscopic study of the sintered compact reveals that necking of aluminium particles starts at 473 K, and higher volume shrinkage was obtained for higher AlN content and at higher sintering temperature.
