Designing of High Temperature Oil Fired Low Thermal Mass Semi-Automatic Chamber Kiln

摘要

A high temperature oil fired semi-automatic down draught chamber kiln has been designed and commissioned in the Institute. The loading volume of the kiln is 2.0m~3. The design criteria considered the reduction of thermal mass, heat loss and incorporation of a recuperation system to achieve higher fuel efficiency. The kiln is automatically operated by a microprocessor based programmable temperature controller and a PID pressure controller. The kiln is running successfully with almost 46 percent fuel savings with respect to conventional kilns.
