THE British Retail Consortium (BRC) announced in March that retailers faced the toughest quarterly rents payment day for at least 18 years. The BRC urged landlords to show more flexibility on retail rents, as the first few months of the year usually see the lowest levels of consumer spending, this is placing retailers in an extremely uncomfortable position within this first quarter.
