Demand for retreaded commecial tires is expected to rebound this year following two years of falling sales as the North American trucking industry consolidated and contracted. Although the industry as a whole tightened last year - U.S. tread rubber shipments were down 5.1 percent from 2000 - most of the major players held the line or expanded their production over 2000, according to an analysis of data from this year's ranking of North American retreaders.
