Safety requirements of runflat tires

Tire makers sell runflat tires as safety tires.Unfortunately,many drivers believe that even with a blowout,braking and cornering performance are the same as ordinary,properly inflated tires.This paper discusses the necessary requirements of runflats.Vehicles without spare tires have been on the market since October 2000.Sales of runflat tires had reached 110,000 sets by December 2003.Drivers choose runflat tires for their safe handling during a blowout as well as increased trunk space that comes from not needing a spare tire.
