Owing to the policy to tighten its financing as decided by the Government of China, prices of all commodities, including steel, aluminum and so on, are now being felt to weaken for the near future and prices of Chinese ferro-alloys are not an exceptional case. Accordingly, the companies, having stocked ferro-alloys, are at once in rush to sell their stocks from last week. In consequence, price of Chinese silico-manganese has easily fallen to a lower level than 1,000 US dollars per ton CIF Japan and shippers are now offering Chinese product at 970 - 980 US dollars per ton CIF as a normal level at present with a lower offer of 950 US dollars CIF. Japanese side has held back to purchase newly silico-manganese and, therefore, price of Chinese silico-manganese is still in direction to fall on a basic tone.
