New offers by Japan's stainless steel producers are virtually on hold in their export deals of nickel-based CR sheets for store sales in China, where wholesalers remain noncommittal to new imports of Ni-based products from Japan in reaction to a continued fall in the world's nickel prices. Meanwhile, the Japanese steelmakers face tough price requirements from their regular customers in China in what the Japanese steelmakers provide for September-October shipments. As a result, the negotiations between the two sides are focused on whether to settle a price reduction of 100 US dollars/ ton.
