Tariff Council / Japan Reports To Abolish Import Duties On High Carbon Ferro-Chrome

It is expected that the duties to impose on imports of high carbon ferro-chrome into Japan will be completely abolished. The council, relating to tariff and foreign exchange in the Ministry of Finance of Japan, submitted on the 13th of December a report to abolish the import duties on high carbon ferro-chrome ( containing 4 percent minimum of carbon ) by the revised tariff to be effective from the fiscal year of 2008. The contents of this report are considered at ordinary National Assembly to be held in spring of next year and this abolition of the import duties are anticipated to be enforced from April of next year at the earliest.
