Japan Exported 31,000 Tons Of Stainless Steel Scrap In April 2006 As Recorded Highest In Its History

According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the exports of stainless steel scrap from Japan in April of 2006 broken down by shipping ports were as per the tables (1) and (2) attached hereto. Namely, Japan exported 31,738 tons of stainless steel scrap in April of 2006, which had a considerable increase of 58.3 percent compared with that (20,045 tons) in the same month of 2005 and also increased by 11.4 percent compared to that (28,465 tons) in the previous month - March. This was the first case in its history that the monthly quantity of stainless steel scrap exported from Japan was larger than 30,000 tons per month.
