Integrateds Offer 20 dollars Price Hike In Non-GO Elec Sheet Exports To China

Japanese integrated steelmakers have offered a price increase of 20 US dollars/ton in their export deals of non-GO (grain oriented) electrical sheets for shipments to China in the January-March quarter of 2007. The Japanese steelmakers describe their price requirements as 650 US dollars/ton C&F or more so that they can profit by new exports of non-GO electrical sheets to China. As a result, they are expected to become selective in the orders they take up this time while reducing supply volumes unless they can win the price increase on offer.
