IP Invests $44 Million in Bogalusa Mill

International Paper (IP) is investing $44 million to modernize its Bogalusa, La., containerboard mill. Gov. Bobby Jindal and Mill Manager Todd Crutcher made the announcement May 4. IP became the fifth owner of 106-year-old mill when it completed the acquisition of Temple-Inland (TI) in February.The investment is expected to improve the competitiveness of the mill by adding new equipment and technology."We are extremely pleased to have the state of Louisiana partner with us in modernizing the Bogalusa mill," Crutcher says. "This combined effort will help our mill become even more competitive - which is positive for our employees, Bogalusa and the surrounding communities, and International Paper."
