Where Does Germany's 'Green Dot' Stand?

For almost two decades,Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) initiatives have been cropping up throughout the industrialized world.These initiatives put the burden of recycling on packaging producers.But it is Europe that has broken new ground with its EPR approach. Ursula Denison, head of sales strategy and marketing, Duales Sustem Deutschland GmbH, has been with Germany's pioneering "Green Dot" system from the beginning. She gave an update on it at Packaging Strategies' Sustainable Packaging Forum,held last week in Denver.
