AbitibiBowater Looks to Cut Costs

North American newsprint maker AbitibiBowater, Montreal, plans to make more cost cuts at some of its Canadian mills, reports The Winnipeg Press. The company needs to establish similar cost structures on both sides of the border, says new CEO Richard Garneau. He says some of its Canadian mills need work done but he declined to name them or say how much more they cost to run that the U.S. mills.
