"The loonie [Canadian dollar] caused us great grief in 2008," states Peter Moore, chairman and ceo of Canada's Moore Packaging. "At 75 cents [against the U.S. dollar] it cost us $250,000 [Canadian] more to buy paper. It put us in a bind with no way out. In the future all our contracts will be tied to the price of paper in U.S. dollars."
