Caraustar Loses $75 Million

Caraustar Industries Inc., reported its third quarter net loss widened to $75.4 million from $6.5 million a year ago. The company recorded a non-cash goodwill impairment loss of $125.3 million. Revenue rose to $214.5 million, from $209.6 million last year. Total paperboard volume for the quarter decreased approximately 13,800 tons, or 5.9 percent, compared to the same quarter last year.
