Board Inventories Keep Increasing

For the third consecutive month, total con- tainerboard inventories (which combines those at mills and box plants) rose, reports the American Forest & Paper Association. Specifically, between August and September they rose 3.8 percent to 2,445,900 tons. During this same period, weeks of supply rose from 3.8 to 4.0. Business is obviously slowing at box plants because inventories rose 5.9 percent to 2,157,400 tons, says the Fibre Box Association.
