Maritime Paper Hit by Strike

Late last week, about 100 unionized workers at corrugated box maker Maritime Paper Products Ltd., Nova Scotia, Canada, decided to walk off the job. On March 6, 90 percent of the plant's employees voted to strike. They are members of Local 1520 of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union and have been in a legal strike position since Feb.18.
