Iwould like to start this article by welcoming the League's new agronomist Mr. Brian Ball. Brian started his duties with the American Sugar Cane League Oct. 1. Brian comes to us from Campbell, Texas, a rural community north of Dallas. Although Brian does not have any experience with sugarcane, he has worked with turf grass at both the research and production levels. In December, he will complete his Master's degree in agriculture from Texas A & M - Commerce, Texas. Brian has joined Herman Waguespackand researchers from the AgCenter and the USDA variety development program in establishing and collecting data from outfield test locations. Additionally, he will supervise the American Sugar Cane League's increase stations in the Bunkie and Bayou Techeareas.
