We have generated the benzyl radical in a pulsed discharge jet, and measured vibrationally resolved dispersed fluorescence spectra from single vibronic levels (SVL). The vibrational analysis of four SVL dispersed fluorescence spectra, obtained by the excitation of the 0(0)(0), 0 + 328 cm(-1), 0 + 387 cm(-1), and 6a(0)(1) bands in the excitation spectrum of the D-1 1 (2)A(2)-D-0 1 B-2(1) transition, is performed. Based on the vibrational analysis of the spectra, we discuss the complex vibronic structure of the excitation spectrum of the radical. [References: 36]
